Please Don't Eat the Daisies | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Clyde Gilmour Maclean's Magazine Kerr's best-seller was a plotless package of anecdotes about her parental ordeal in raising a houseful of Lovable Brats. The movie, although droll in spots, clumsily tries to make a big thing of the fact that Daddy is a New York drama critic... Nizar N As I always say about Doris Day movies, her presence means the movie has to be enjoyable, and that is the case with Please Don't Eat the Daisies too. However, that presence itself is what redeems an otherwise bland movie with a vapid plot and slow pacing. It isn't one of those absolutely boring movies which you would never want to watch again, but it isn't memorable either, because there is nothing worth remembering to begin with (besides Day's appearance). Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/07/23 Full Review s r My girlfriend wanted to watch this with me. It was fun and Day was very cheeky in a good way. Her kids were a riot, but I still don't understand why they locked up the one kid... Regardless, I was intrigued by the story and fun. The abrupt ending was not good closure for me. Niven also was hard to understand and wasn't always funny when he was trying to be. I'd watch it again, but not on my own. It was on Amazon. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review steve d Please don't watch this sexist (even by 60's standards) movie. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Very enjoyable and stylish. Typical of early 1960's cinema. I can say that it drags a little to where the movie goes dry at times. But it is a beautiful production in simple form. Both David Niven and Doris Day deliver quality performances. Would I watch it again? Probably. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Sexist and SUBLIME.
